Our Advanced Shower Restoration Process

Our shower & bath restoration process includes a 9-step process that utilizes special cleaners, commercial grade steamers, and sealers to return your shower back to a like new appearance.

1 Pre-Inspection:

  • Every quotation begins with a thorough inspection to determine the type of grout, tile, level of soiling, mould, and existing moisture issues, as well as inspecting for cracked and damaged grout.

2 Remove Old Caulking:

  • Cracked, and mildew-stained caulking will be carefully removed.

3 Pre-Treatment:

  • We use a safe, non-acidic shower cleaner to dissolve soap scum buildup and soils. An acidic cleaner may be used to remove hard water deposits.

4 Steam Clean:

  • After the soap scum and soils is loosed up, we steam clean each and every grout line and tile with a 345-degree sanitizing steam (we do not use high pressure power wash in showers as this process can saturate behind your tiles if areas are opened up from caulking/ silicone removal or grout missing.)

5 Sanitizing:

  • Our 345-degree steam sanitizes as we clean we also use a medical grade sanitizing solution that kills 99.9% of germs.

6Drying:

  • We use specialized dryers to dry the tile and grout prior to sealing and re-caulking.

7 Sealing:

  • We offer different sealing options based on type of tile, grout and age and condition of your shower.

8 Caulking:

  • We use a 100% silicone & mold resistant caulking available in multiple colors.

9 Final Inspection:

  • We will complete a final inspection of our workmanship with every client.

Sealing Options

Clear Penetrating Sealer
Clear penetrating sealer can be used for natural stone and grout sealing.
Color Sealant
A premium color sealant may be used to restore grout color back to its original beauty. Colour sealant will also stop your grout from darkening when wet (we do not recommend this product on shower bases)
Textured Stone Sealer
Textured stone sealer / finish: color enhancers, gloss and matte finishes available
Shower Base Sealer
We use a resin based sealer for your shower base. This also does not change color of your grout when it is wet.
Shower Glass Sealer
For sealing around shower glass, there are a number of options available.

Tips on Maintaining Your Shower

  • Showers need ventilation. It needs to dry as quickly as possible. Make sure to keep your washroom and shower doors open after use. Also, leave your vent fan running and open a window. If the shower is not drying mold will occur.
  • Ensure your shower drain is not backing up. If water is pooling on the base clean your drain.
  • For natural stone showers DO NOT use acidic cleaners, vinegar or CLR to clean
  • Use a soap scum remover product (read label)
  • Repair any leaking shower heads and faucets asap. The continue leaking will not let your shower dry
  • Squeegee walls, glass after use or towel dry
  • Repair any missing grout, caulking or cracked grout asap to avoid water saturation behind the tiles
  • Ensure water is flowing towards the drain and not pooling in poorly sloped areas of the shower base
  • Use liquid soaps and body washes, these tend to leave less residue than bar soaps
  • Do not leave bottles of soaps, lotions and washes on natural stone surfaces this will increase the potential for staining and damage of your natural stone.
